We thought we were late. Surprisingly, we were one of the first people who got there first. So Hendra and the kids decided to warm up and stretch before the marathon began. They even ran the track one or two laps to warm up.
It was still early in the morning, I think I still half asleep in this picture.Well....according to the schedule, " The Race will start Promptly at 7;30". We were already there since 7;10. But They didn't start the race untill 8;45 (seriously!!!).
We were bored!!! We were so close to bail on this marathon because we were there for a long time before they started the race. They kept on pushing the time to start the program while the schedule said they'd start "promptly at 7;30". I was so bored and kind of frustrated with the way they run this program. But Hendra always reminded me that this was a "Mormon event". Therefore I had to expect people using their "Mormon Time".
"We're not late, We're Mormon " couldn't be more right at this event.
Thank goodness for Melati who loved to entertain us with her "modelling skills" and her funny knock knock jokes that I was willing to stay and not bailing on the race.
Yay....we finally started running.
Melati and Jonas stayed close to Hendra and they got to the finish line in half the time Putri and I did.
Putri and I were running slower than Hendra. we made it to the finish line waaayy behind Hendra. We finished the race around 10 am and then we just went straight home. We didn't have enough time to stay for the relays because we had an appointment with our friends at 11 am. Eventhough we almost bailed on this race and I was bored waiting, we did have a good time running and spending time together. We hope that next year they will use the "real time" instead of "the Mormom Time" so we can stay for the whole programs.
